Blurb: Nothing in Peyton Abbot’s life has ever come easy. He’s finally found the brother he’s spent the last five years searching for only to discover he has no memory of Peyton and now lies unconscious in a coma. Peyton starts to contemplate what he’s done with his life and that only becomes more complicated when he meets Levi Taft.

Becoming a wolf shifter’s mate was never something Levi thought a possibility for himself, mainly because he’s straight and the wolf wanting him is a man. Levi wasn’t expecting this, but he’s drawn to Peyton and willing to change his whole life around to explore what’s growing between them.

When called out on a mission to rescue a fellow shifter, Peyton is forced to leave his brother behind, but he won’t be going alone. Now it’s time for Peyton to think about more than himself and put his mate first, otherwise this will be one short courtship.

Review: Levi is straight… very straight. He is surprised when Peyton kisses him and he does not handle it well. At first, he doesn’t know what is going on or why he is drawn to Peyton. After their second confrontation, that is explosive Peyton runs this time. It takes a conversation with Levi’s two best friends to clue him in. They remind about wolf mating that is when he knows he has a male mate. Suddenly Levi is no longer straight and the chase is on to get his mate.

Peyton is dealing with a lot right now. The brother is has been looking for is in a healing coma and now he has a skirt chaser for a mate. When the two finally have a talk Peyton says he wants to take it slow and not rush anything. But Levi has decided. He has a mate and he wants him, now.

This was a good gay for you story. Levi is a boy who likes sex with women, a lot. But once he knows Peyton is his mate, his being male does not stop him from claiming Peyton. He seemed to have no real hang ups about it. Levi is a free spirit and takes it as it comes. I really liked him and some of the things he says are hilarious. He has no filter at all. Peyton is a little more serious and it works with Levi. They seemed to balance each other. The only thing that really took me out of the story was several edit errors, like character name mix-ups.

This was a really good edition in the series. I look forward to reading more in the future about his pack.

Blurb: The last place Kyle thought he’d ever come back to was Blackwater Falls.

He’d come there as a boy when his father married a shifter, and left town after high school when he’d had his heart broken by one of them. His qualifications could have landed him a position in a big city, making good money, but he was through with stress and drama.

Being Military Police for all of those years and a couple of tours in Afghanistan had pretty much chewed him up and spit him out. What was left felt like a burnt out shell most days. He’d taken a job as Hawke Sutherland’s new deputy as a last resort. If he could stand to be around the shifters, he might just be able to do this.

Spencer Sutherland takes one look at him and knows Kyle’s the mate he’s been waiting for, but Kyle has serious commitment issues, and he’d vowed long ago never to become involved with a shifter again.

Is Kyle ready to take a chance on love and find what he’s been searching for all along?

Review: Kyle Jenkin’s has come back to Blackwater Falls, the last place he ever thought he’d go back to. Kyle suffers from PTSD, decides to apply for Deputy Sheriff, and gets the job. He meets Spencer who after acting nervous around him finally admits after a night of passion that Kyle is his mate. Unfortunately, Kyle doesn’t want anything to do with mates, settling down or commitments and tells Spencer exactly that.

Spencer Sutherland is Hawke’s cousin and after meeting Kyle at Hawke’s place, immediately gets sick, as he’s stunned to find his mate. But Kyle pushes him away emotionally until Spencer ends up getting into an accident.

Well written story with a lot of drama, because Kyle can’t accept that Spencer is his mate. Spence and Kyle have some passionate sex throughout this book as they both try to cope with their feelings. Great read.

Blurb: Amos Greene grew up in a series of foster homes that left him abused, hardened, and closed off. Meeting Charlie Turner changed all that, and before he knows it, Amos is part of a family. But there’s still a little bit of him that wonders who he really is.

Although Charlie has fought—and mostly beat—his own demons, he’s more concerned about the contents of the ticking time bomb he’s been handed. A file that contains everything his lover wants to know, and that could bring them together or tear them apart forever.

Charlie Turner would rather take a bullet than hurt anyone he loves. Amos Greene will rip the guts out of anyone who stands in his way. When the truth comes to light, will the fragile bonds making these men a family be enough to hold them together?

Review: This is book five and the finale of this series. The series needs to be read in order, also its part of a larger collection of 4 authors and you get the fuller impact by reading the entire collection in order. There will be one bigger finale for the entire collection so we will see these guys one more time.

Charlie and Amos have been through a lot of struggles, first with getting together, then Charlie’s brother Damon, and twist after twist. Finally, they are all in therapy, Damon is living with Charlie and healing, and almost back to his snarky teenage self, and Amos is staying over most nights. But Charlie has a secret he is holding back from Amos that could destroy all they worked for, the longer Charlie waits to give Amos the worse the repercussions could be.

I really liked this story. It summed up the series very well. There was lots of snark form Damon and Amos, which I love. I find Damon fun, charming and a pin in the butt. I would love to see his story some day in a full book. Amos is another character I don’t think I would ever get tired of. He is very queen acting and sounding but in the bedroom, his masculine Dom takes over the big strong Charlie. I found this story a well-done end to a very interesting series and as usual, it was smokin’ hot!

If you like interracial romance, snarky characters, art, construction workers, lots of wit, charm, and some hot mansex this is for you.

Blurb: To an outsider’s view, world-famous action star Joe Nestra lives the Hollywood dream—parties, women, and a high-profile divorce. In reality, Joe’s agent directs his public life. Those women he’s supposedly intimate with? Prearranged dates ending at the red carpet. With his assistant and best friend Derek Simmons’ help, Joe has lived safely in the closet since his divorce, choosing to let off steam with discreet male escorts rather than risk an actual boyfriend. At forty-four, he has no plans to change. Then, taking a role in a film without flashy explosions upends that.

When Joe signs on to play an early 1990s-era AIDS-stricken gay man, his internalized homophobia threatens the production. His out costar Hunter Starling won’t put up with Joe’s behavior. As the animosity between Joe and Hunter grows, saving the film means Joe must face his deepest fear. Challenges pile up from all directions, from his father disowning him to the entertainment industry’s backstabbing reaction.

Amid the backlash, Joe ventures into his first gay romantic relationship, tries to help others worse off, and slowly learns how to live his life instead of just acting it.

Review: I liked this story, sometimes less, sometimes more, but I didn’t love it. It does have an incredible cover and maybe my expectations were raised because of it. Or maybe I expected more because I’ve loved other book written by Ms. Loveless, but regardless, my expectations were not met. This was a story of self-discovery and acceptance, it was very well written and complex, and dare I say it was sometimes intense. But still, I just couldn’t really get into it.

This is the story of Joe Nestra, a 44-year-old actor, who is still closeted and has developed some internalized homophobic tendencies. Joe usually plays an action figure role in a series of movies, but while injured in a stunt, he has to lay low for a while. His agent offers him the chance to play one of the lead males in a gay movie, an AIDS stricken man, and Joe accepts it.

But Joe’s homophobia threatens the whole production and his relationship with his costar, Hunter, is tense and very unfriendly. Hunter will not put up with Joe’s bullshit and they have a few altercations. Hunter’s husband, Chris, tries to calm the waters by inviting Joe and his personal assistant Derek to dinner at their house. And this is the beginning of how Joe’s carefully constructed life starts to fall apart.Once he witnesses the great and loving relationship Chris and Hunter have, he starts to yearn for the same thing.

Joe has been divorced for over a decade, and he’s never been in any relationships and hasn’t been part of the dating scene. His hookups were all arranged by Derek, young men who were carefully screened and made to sign a confidentiality agreement. Now Joe doesn’t want that anymore, and while he doesn’t consider coming out, he wants to give dating a try.

I really didn’t like Joe at the beginning and while I warmed up to him towards the end, he never became a character that I liked. He was a jerk and an asshole. After getting drunk one night he called his father to confess his homosexuality and, as expected, he got disowned. I never understood why his need for parental acceptance was that great, he was a grown man in his mid forties, not a teenager in need of support.

Besides, he never really had a great relationship with his father. Joe got beat a lot when he was a child and his father was never shy to let his fists fly when it came to him. So why the fuck is his acceptance so damn important? And the scene where Joe’s father came to the hotel where Joe was staying and pulled a gun on him was the most difficult for me to read and accept. Not because it’s unreal, because I believe stuff like that can happen. It’s that Joe tried distracting his father by offering to let him beat his ass with a belt. Umm, yes we are talking about a 44-year-old man allowing his father to beat his ass. But I gave up trying to understand that and moved on.

I can’t say who Joe’s love interest is, because I believe the author was vague about it when writing the blurb for a reason. That person is someone from Joe’s past, the one and only one nightstand he had while still married to his wife. It was quite easy to figure out who that was and the whole time I was thinking to myself Joe you’re such a clueless idiot.

That being said, I didn’t feel the chemistry between them, and that’s not because there was virtually no sex on page in this book. Other than a couple of blowjobs, this book is very PG 13, so if you’re looking for a hot sexy story, this is not it. But I don’t need sex to feel there is chemistry between two characters and I’m sad to say I felt no chemistry AT ALL.

Their love story isn’t exactly believable to me from Joe’s PO, because you can’t just decide you love someone out of the blue like Joe did. His love interest wasn’t referred to at all in terms of someone Joe had feeling for or thought of as a partner; it was pretty much out of the blue. But still, I appreciated the support and closeness between them; it came out strong that they had each other’s backs.

Once Joe decided to come out everything changed, and not for the better. He got dropped from every contract he signed, his latest movie tanked at the box office and the scripts stopped coming in. Nobody wanted a gay actor to play in their movies. I don’t know a lot about Hollywood or the movie industry, and the author seemed to be very knowledgeable about it all, but it’s hard for me to believe and accept that everyone would shun Joe like that because of his sexuality.

A great actor is still a great actor at the end of the day, but most of all, we’re talking about the year 2011 not 1990, in LA not in bumfuck nowhere, Bible belt county. I think the movie industry has seen and accepted all: druggies and alcoholics, depressed people who are struggling to survive, and so many weirdoes, my mind is spinning trying to think of it all. Not to mention how many out and proud celebrities we see and hear about every day. And I’m supposed to believe that being gay will get so many drastic, negative, life changing reactions from all the producers? Not likely, and that’s what bothered me most.

There are things that I liked a lot about this book; mostly the supporting characters. I loved Hunter and Chris most of all. Hunter is a very real person; he’s honest to the point of being rude and won’t take shit from anyone, least of all a homophobic co-star like Joe. But once Joe got to really get to know him, Hunter proved to be a supporting friend who was loyal, helpful, and never hesitated to offer some important piece of advice.

His relationship with Chris I absolutely adored, and the fact that he was a sarcastic shit made him even more likeable. “Thank you,” Joe said. He raised his spoon in a salute. Hunter gave his own salute in return. It used only one finger.

Chris was a doll and by far my favorite of them all. His love and support for his husband is plain to see and the fact that he wants everyone to get along endeared him to me greatly. He is funny and childish sometimes and gives this story the breath of fresh air it needs. He’s awesome at giving advice, great at being a friend and the most well rounded human being in this book. The fact that he’s made me laugh at his antics made me love him all the more…

After one more night with Hunter and Chris, they moved into another hotel to begin a proper honeymoon—a decision not at all (completely) influenced by Chris’s propensity for shouting “Are you having sex now?” at their bedroom door and thundering away giggling like a clumsy hyena. *giggling*

And Derek…well he was an amazing friend as well. He was very honest with Joe when it came to his opinion of who Joe is “Aside from being an emotionally immature moron on occasion, you generally come through,” never hesitated to tell him what he needed to hear regardless if that was the same with what Joe wanted to hear. And he never allowed anyone to take advantage of Joe or insult him in any way.

“You think you’re not, but I’ve seen it happen. The freedom of being out is going to get to you, make you want to explore yourself further, and suddenly you’re prancing around in lace panties.”

Joe opened his mouth.

“Number one,” Derek said. Joe closed his mouth. This is going to be good. “Try to be a little less offensive. Number two, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a man who enjoys wearing lace, and it doesn’t emasculate him in any way.”

Overall, this was a good book, and I love that generally the characters were real and believable. They’re not perfect and they make mistakes, but they’re complex and well written. Aside from the few points that were not very believable to me, this was a great story of an adult man who faces a challenging journey of self-discovery. If you like coming-out books than this is a recommended read.

BLURB: PI Jake Stanley thinks he’s on a routine case when a father asks him to track down an errant daughter. There’s nothing routine about Cirque Caprice, though, or its mysterious owner, Victor. Most travelling shows are all smoke and mirrors, but there’s something about Caprice that makes Jake think he ought to stick around and investigate. Victor thinks Jake ought to join them on the road, too, but for an entirely different, and more pleasurable, reason.

REVIEW: Jake’s a PI who reluctantly takes a case to find a girl (20-year-old girl at that!) who runs away to join the circus. More accurately, she ran away to join Cirque Caprice, which is closer to being the classical type of travelling freak show. This is where he meets Victor, one of the owners of Cirque Caprice. But Cirque Caprice is different to most circuses and freak shows because not all members are as human, or the usual type of human, as they seem to be.

I like this because it’s a simple story without too much mystery, which is all we need in something this short. Everyone in Cirque Caprice is trying to either get away from it all or just learn to control their powers, be it they are psychic, telekinetic, clairvoyant or whatever. Most importantly, sparks instantly fly between Jake and Victor. They make a good couple.

Review: Hercules and his fellow gods needs to complete the twelve labors Hercules originally competed to be forgiven for killing his family. With each completion, they receive another key to unlocking the prison Zeus is in. Herc is up first and he needs to save his mate Micah from an insane Alpha empowered by Aries. Herc has never been attracted to a man before, but that doesn’t stop him.

Micah has been beaten for as long as his Alpha has been in power. On top of it, he somehow lost his ability to heal like a shifter. He never knew why his Alpha hated him so much until he meets Hercules. Micah is amazed that his fated mate it the legendary Hercules. He doesn’t think he is good enough for him at first. But he stands beside and helps his mate any way he can.

OK… First Hercules is gay. Awesome! Also, Micah is adorable. I loved the two of them together. Some of the other gods turn out to be a little whiny which is funny as hell. Their arguing and fighting that happens among them have some seriously laugh out loud moments. The same with the mating of Micah and Herc. The first time they have sex is hot but also has a few funnies as Herc has doubts about how to have sex with a man.

The twelve gods chosen have an uphill battle on their hands. Since, it turns out that Hera and Aries know about their mates and are going to do all they can to screw things up. I loved this start to the series and really look forward to reading about the other gods and their matings.

If the other mates are anything like Micah, the gods won’t know what hit them.

Review: Fans of the series will know how protective The Smooth Rock Falls pack is over their Omega, who is also their alpha’s mate, Quinn. With the addition of the Omega Pierce from a Tiger Pride into their pack, some obstinate wolves are continually trying to kidnap either Omega they can get their hands on. This makes the pack uneasy, a lot of the shifters are on edge, but one thing is certain.

Whoever tries to take either Quinn or Pierce is going to have one hell of a fight on their hands, if they survive long enough to shift.
Pierce Nevitt was taken from his family when he was just a child to protect him. Omegas are rare and when their true nature is revealed to their packs, they are protected above all others.

But what the Alpha and Elders see as protection, the Omegas see as a prison. There was one solace in Pierce’s life growing up, Gavin. When Gavin’s father caught them together, he sent Gavin away to college and urged his son to choose another path for a mate. Gavin foolishly agreed and tried his best to find another lover, but the shy, sexy Tiger Omega had already claimed Gavin’s heart.

Now that Gavin is one of Pierce’s guards, he hopes to rekindle the fire that never really stopped burning between him and Pierce. But Pierce wants nothing to do with him, or at least that is how Pierce tries to make it seem. Mostly, Pierce doesn’t want to ever feel the pain he felt the day he realized Gavin was trying to forget him again, it almost killed him. He doesn’t think his heart would survive that kind of pain again.

Gavin is relentless though, he and his Tiger sense their mate, and the innate need to protect Pierce. When someone close to the family puts Pierce’s life in danger, Gavin will have to stay calm and rely on the assistance of the pack to bring his mate back home, alive.

This book was full of emotion and passion with a lot of action and suspense to keep the reader engaged and anxious to turn the pages, to see what would happen next. Pierce and Gavin shared a special kind of connection. It was almost as if they actually started the mate bond when they were teenagers, before they separated.

The way they were still drawn to each other and able to communicate through their minds almost immediately, and both their Tiger’s were almost insane with the need to claim. But Gavin has to show Pierce he’s in it for the long haul. That he won’t up and leave again even if his father orders him to. Gavin has to prove his love if Pierce is going to make the right choice.

What I enjoy most about this series is that it is always a steady flowing continuation from one story to the next. Each book centers around a specific couple, but all the characters and couples are featured in all the books. So you get to see a new relationship form, while watching the previous bonds grow stronger and friendships flourish. Definitely a must read series, just be sure you start with book 1 if you haven’t read any yet. This series must be read in order!
