Tired of moping around after the breakup of his long-term girlfriend, Ryan knew he needed a hookup to get him out of his funk. When he met Drea, he hoped she might be the one. But when he felt more chemistry with her gay cousin, Ryan was more confused than he had ever been in his life. He wasn’t gay but he wanted to be with Zach.

How could it possibly work?

Tams Review:  ♥♥♥♥4Hearts

Ryan is in a bit of a funk after breaking up with his girlfriend when he meets the outspoken and lively Drea at a party. He winds up spending the night on her couch and winds up feeling more of a connection with her cousin, the gamer and all around smart geek Zach, than he does with the girl he hoped would lift the fog in his head left after the break up.Ryan and Zach become friends and start spending more and more time together studying and playing disc golf, but Ryan doesn’t recognize his attraction to Zach until it is almost too late. He continually tells himself and Zach that he is not gay, they can be friends, but he is not gay. Me thinks though doth protest too much.

What I loved most about this story is how you could tell from that first stare that Zach was completely attracted to Ryan. But he never really pushes the issue until Ryan opens the door. They become friends before they become lovers and that aspect of the story made it more believable when the romance unfolded.

This was my first audible with Douglas Dale, but I’ll find something else of his soon. I could always tell when there was a change in character, mood and setting by his changes in tone, nuance and inflection. There was emotion behind his words when there was emotion written into the story and that always makes for an enjoyable listen.

I’ve both read and listened to this story and enjoyed both variations. I’d recommend to anyone that likes a believable and well written ‘Gay For You’ type story.

The Love of Wicked men Episode 1 by Brandon Shire914pknAwHHL._SL1500_

Sid Rivers and Jack Brown are two sides of the same coin. One is a lawyer with his own firm and dreams of money and power; the other is a criminal with a lengthy record and a quest for vengeance. When they meet, sparks fly. But was their meeting an accident? Or, was it planned by the billionaires who want to control their destiny?

The Love of Wicked Men is an erotic journey into the underbelly of the legal profession, the corporate culture of profit-at-any-cost, and the secret world of industrial espionage.

KathyMac’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts
This is an engaging and thought-provoking short story that could easily become an addiction. We are seeing the underbelly of the corporate world and it’s ugly.

Sid Rivers is a small time corporate lawyer who is playing a game way over his head. He is out for himself to get his name noticed and make lots of money doing it. If you get caught in his crosshairs…sorrynotsorry.

He likes to fuck pretty young boys but don’t fuck with him. He will stab you in the back if the opportunity shows itself.
Then there is Jack. He appears to be a thug, always on a bender and lives with his sister when he wants to show up.

But, he is not that, at all. He is working for someone who is pulling higher strings… I just don’t know who yet.

One thing is certain, Jack and Sid are working on their own agenda. Brandon has shown just enough of the dirty tactics and maneuvers to keep you guessing. Are these men salvageable or are they the bottom of the dumpster feeding off everyone else?

I love wicked men and these two are definitely up to no good.

Nightmare by Hans M Hirschi

RG’s Review: ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts

This story in the anthology takes places in Europe where Russia has gone to war and claimed all of the former Baltic states that won independence from it plus Finland, Sweden, and Norway. Plus missiles have destroy many of the major cities in the rest of Europe.
Jonathon and Noah are  a married couple who flee their home in Sweden with their 2 1/2 year old son, Jayden. During the escape Noah and Jayden get caught in the blast radius of an unexploded grenade that they disturb when climbing over the rubble. Noah is in a coma for 4 months.
Spoiler: This story end when Jonathon wakes up from a nightmare and has to take care of Jayden.
The writing was superb and the ending caught me off guard because I found the story up to that point to be believable and plausible with the tension of the modern-day Europe and Baltic/Balkan states.

eXtreme Homecoming by Jennah Scott22553788

Hunter Castille almost has everything he wants. Being on top in the motocross arena means he gets his adrenaline fix often. Life would be perfect if he hadn’t lost the one person he wanted forever.

Bastian Reed has been gone for three years. Stationed in Afghanistan, he’s seen it all and the only thing he wants now is the man he left when he was deployed.

Now Bastian’s home and all he wants is for Hunter to forgive him so they can both have the forever they’ve always wanted.

Portia’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts

This story had so many elements that I hate.  It basically starts in the middle, the back story is etchy, and there is way too much angst.  Yet…I LOVED it.

The story is told from Hunter’s POV, but I totally related to Bastien.  Some times silence is golden, especially when you are trying to hold your sanity together.

The writing is good. There are a few secondary characters I’d like to get to know better, and the sex is sensuous and loving.

In a perfect world, Jennah would revisit Hunter and Bastien and show us how they are doing with their happily ever after.

BONDED by Sara York91qqxhx60KL._SL1500_

My soul ached for command and love, and I was lost. Until I met them. We’d seen each other at different times but it wasn’t until the night I almost killed myself trying to lift more weight than I should that our worlds finally collided.

What started out as lifting partners and movie marathons turned into weekend jaunts across the city and every free moment spent together, a tension building up between us that left me holding my breath. I’ll never forget the night He took control and shattered our worlds, morphing our growing friendship into something more. I used to tell myself I would walk this earth lost and broken forever, but I know now my soul was waiting for Sir and Pup to save me.

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥5Heaarts

Chris had come home to find his lover gone. Left without a word. Deciding to get rid of a little stress almost gets him killed. That is until Greg saves his butt and then yells at him. Liam however is the one that needs them both. He needs to know that he is not only protected, loved and cherished. Chris and Liam are in need of a strong man who guides and controls them.

This is not only the hottest story I have read in a while but the sweetest. What Liam went through will tear anyone apart and have them screwed up. I would love to see his parents beaten and destroyed. Chris’s story is a bit different but his ex-lover is a fool. Greg’s past has made him the perfect man for these two men. I would love for this story to be turned into a novel.

I want to hear how Greg and Liam got together before Chris comes into the picture. Then I would love to hear more about these three gorgeous men in their future. It was a fascinating story and I was pleased with it. I loved it and would recommend this story to everyone. It has very little humor to it and more of a serious nature and it turned out to be perfect.

I loved how Chris is not with them fully and stopped everything to help Liam. These three are the best characters for this story.

Review: Intense story about two men who want each other but are unsure of what the other wants. I didn’t care for the way Major Harper conducted himself when he was aboard the ship. Luke seemed very comfortable with himself except when it came to his second LT.

Enjoyable read. Great details into the trial and the outcome.

Glad Luke and Richard got together in the end.

Review: Peter inherits the Circus from his uncle and soon is getting to know the performers as well as their history. I really liked the fact that Peter did this. It was fascinating to read.

Kaelen is one of the performers who Peter finds intriguing. I found Kaelan’s character to be mysterious and fascinating. This story has a dark side to it as with all stories set in the Depression era but it added to it rather than detract from it.

I loved the passion between Kaelan and Peter. They seemed like a great match. This story seems to make you want to keep reading to find out everything.

Well written and intriguing.

He rushes to Venice, Italy, to save Rolf Kildare, only to find the nightmares have just begun. Saving the injured wolf from poisoned bullets is one thing, but saving all of the city’s paranormals is another.

Hunters are gathering in Venice to party at Festivaali, ridding the ancient city of every paranormal inhabitant, and Dorian can’t let the genocide go unanswered, especially after he learns a powerful magic is involved. Unfortunately leaders are fighting each other… And Dorian… And everyone, because they’re afraid, instead of listening to the Enchanter with the magic and means to stop the genocide.

The bloody fools will get them all killed.

Calling on old allies and new acquaintances, Dorian races the countdown to save all those he can. But will it be enough or will the streets of Venice no longer be packed with tourists and instead be littered with dead bodies once the hunt begins?

Review: This book is much better than the first one in the series as there’s a lot more details in it about Dorian and why he is the way he is. I loved the fact that he wants to help people unlike other magic users who don’t.

I couldn’t believe hunters wanted to wipe out all the paranormals in Venice and had succeeded in the past in another country. It also disturbed me about the magic user who was helping the hunters.

Just shocking.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am hoping the next one is just as good or better.

Review: Each book in Shifters of Mystery collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved.

I love the way Lynn Hagen can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Lynn.

There is something about the way that Lynn tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story.

This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break. Tone to them but there is a lot of humor in them that I love. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.

Pat had known that Sam was his mate from the moment they had met. The problem was Sam was just not going there. No matter what, these two seemed to fight. Pat knew that Sam was fighting it all. Then when Sam was taken, Pat thought his heart was going to explode. He wanted his mate back.

Sam was beaten, tortured and experimented on. He was now a werewolf like the others. After the first rescue Sam hated them all, even Pat. He knew deep inside that it was not Pat, Sage or any of their packs fault but he was full of anger. Sage’s father kept coming after him, and he knew the man had to die. Now if he can only get his head out of his ass and become a true mate.

I think this was the best one in this series yet, but to make sure I will have to go read them all over again. I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story.

When Lynn puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. They do have a bit of a serious would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

The team consists of Maverick, a thief; Tripp, a street kid who shoplifts to survive; and Fey, another street kid who is an excellent pickpocket and petty thief.

Now the question becomes, will the team succeed? And, equally important, will the attraction between Dirk, who has sworn off love, and Maverick — whose credo is only down and dirty sex — grow into something more? Or will they remain just ‘friends with benefits’?

Review: There are times in life that being on the right side of the law isn’t the best place to be. No matter how good you are things can blow up. Dirk Steele finds this out the hard way when after two years of busting his butt undercover to bring down a corrupt businessman he finds himself framed. When even betrayed by his lover of 5 years he disappears moving far from New Orleans. He makes new friends and not knowing what else to do for a living but use his undercover skills he finds himself on the wrong side of the law.

This is a very good book. Even though it teaches bad ethics it is still a feel-good sort of story. Dirk was wronged and though he is now a leader of a theft ring he has gotten two young kids off the streets, and even saved an abused dog. So there is a balance there.

The story is lighthearted, and sweet with some moderately hot love scenes. There are several characters involved in this story and all with interesting storylines. There is a touch of mystery and intrigue as well. I will say that for me there was a few details left hanging that I would have like to seen wrapped up and a few things were just too easy but this is fiction and all in all the story was good. I see a little potential here for another book and hope that I am right!

If you like good cops gone bad, thieves, Ocean’s Eleven, lots of characters, sweet romance, moderate sex scenes and a very feel-good story this is a must!

Review: This is book 3 of the Blue Boy series. The whole series should be read because in the second and third book you hear a bit more of other characters you’ve already met. However, there is no real over arching story except for a running plot associated with the ownership of the club and studio. But I accidentally read the book out-of-order and I had no problems understanding everything.

This about Kai and Matthew; Kai is a dancer as well as one of the performers of Blue Boy Studios. Another dancing from adjoining club, Matthew, is has been brought in to the studio. Kai is very critical about Matthew at first but also hides his shyness. The only problem with these guys was that I found it difficult to connect to either one of them.

I’ve come to the conclusion that a lot of “screen time” for them was also dominated by various other characters so I didn’t feel as though their characters or story was fully fleshed out.
This is about the point where I think that this story is just a bit average because these guys can’t communicate and that leads them up shit creek without a paddle, to put it mildly and non-spoiler-like. You got a shy guy and two men that are basically either too scared or too embarrassed to talk, to me it was frustrating.

Another point I would like to clarify (from above) is that there are a lot of sub plots and a lot of minor characters that blip in and out of the story, which takes up a lot of the short and precious word space. I will concede that a lot of these points are important in terms of the previous two books, and probably any future books that may come out of this series. However, some of this actually took away from Kai and Matthew.

Okay, I probably just ranted a little too much just now but I feel my reasoning is valid. On its own this is probably a pretty decent book. However, compared to book 2 of this series I just don’t feel it measured up quite so well.

I will say that this book was hard to get into, the plot of the story did not flow smooth. There are a lot of loop-hole in the story, things are left hanging.

It also gave me everything I could want in a book. However even with all of that you really need to read it in order. It has been a time between each book and I made the mistake of not reading the others once more before this one. This story is the type to get you really confused if you cannot really focus on it and have not read the stories before.

The main problem was the fact that Justin has a mixed up type of relationship with Jex. For the first part of the story I had thought he was there for Jex. He was an assassin sent to get Jex back for his father, the alpha. Then he meets another sexy little man who has him throwing it all in. Adam was what he wanted, and it over thrown what his orders were. He knew Jex’s father would come after them but didn’t have a time line.

Adam has met his match. The problem was he didn’t know how to tell him. His mate was a killer and even though it scared him, he wanted the man. The dangers just couldn’t stop though. I had a bit of a problem with the fact that it moves way to fast with too much description to keep up with. Adam wants his mate, and his mate wanted him. The problem that was between them was people wanted them dead or brought back. They seemed to be fighting more than just his father though. It didn’t stop me from liking the story though.

I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series that even if it confuses you, you can’t stop just reading them once. I would recommend reading this story. It gives you gorgeous men, werewolves, excitement, danger and some hot sex.

Review: Jason Day, a work at home video designer, babysits his 4-year-old nephew, Timmy, while his mother goes on vacation. I don’t think Jason was really prepared for what a 4-year-old can get up to so there are funny scenes in the book.

Out of the blue Timmy’s Uncle Sam, from his father’s side shows up and Jason is attracted to him. Throw in some ghosts and all this made for a good read. The book was half humor and half horror.
Some of the scenes with the ghosts made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I kept wondering why Jason didn’t just leave.

Well written.

Good read.

Blurb: “A night lost in Paris finds two hearts changed forever.”

Sent to Paris on business, Nigel Warren doesn’t quite understand why his colleagues’ eyes twinkle as they tell him to meet them at a local night spot.

When he discovers it’s a drag cabaret and his acquaintances aren’t there, he realizes he’s the butt of a joke. Yet he finds himself quite undone by a singer dressed in an elegant gown, crooning a spellbinding ballad.

It’s not unusual for Jay, a former Londoner, to bring a new “friend” home from the cabaret, but he’s never had a guest quite like Nigel, whose straight-laced manner hides an unexpected passionate streak.

One romantic night on a rooftop under starry skies, followed by an afternoon enjoying the excitement of the 1901 Paris Exposition, bonds these opposites in a way neither can forget—even after they part.

Their spark reignite when Jay comes to London, but he’s not sure he can go back to hiding his true self, not even for the sake of love…unless Nigel is willing to shed his cloak of staid respectability and take a leap of faith.

Warning: Contains a virgin who doesn’t speak French but is fluent in numbers, and a drag performer who is trilingual in English, French and Love. Not responsible for extra pounds brought on by the urge to dine on croissants au deux.

Review: I absolutely love a good historical romance and I was thrilled to hear that Bonnie Dee and Summer Devon were writing another such book. I think they’re an excellent writing team, and I have them to thank for “The Gentleman and the Rogue”, my favorite MM historical read. As always, Dee and Devon are masters of their craft, and from the very start the pictures they paint with their words take you back to the time in which their novel is set.

True to past experience, from word one I was transported back to the early 1900’s… Where I met Nigel, the stuffy banker who was somehow charming in his innocence, and where I met Jean Michel, or Jay, as he is called… the compelling drag/cabaret singer who is so much more than the alluring pretty face. I was captivated by Jay as much as Nigel was, and I loved how he was able to transform Nigel’s fear and shyness into eagerness, willingness.

Their first night together was both romantic and erotic.
Illicit for its time, I loved the romance, the dance between the two. It would seem that Nigel’s shyness brought out a different side of the more experienced Jay, and their connection though sexual at first, was soon elevated to a different level. Ah, but love is never easy.

Nigel, whisked into Jay’s world temporarily, had quite the eye-opening. Would it be the same for Jay when the roles reversed? The tale is older than time, star-crossed lovers… the banker, affluent, proper, bored with life. The singer, poor in finance but rich in life. Both lonely in love. Both wanting what is unacceptable in society as a whole, but on different levels.

Of course, their worlds would clash, but what is a good romance without conflict? It is through that conflict and strife that they eventually find happiness and love together.

Bonnie Dee and Summer Devon have written another delightful, feel-good sexy romance, confirming once again why they are an auto-buy for me. I highly recommend this writing team, their Bohemian, and their Banker; they’ll leave you smiling for the rest of your day.

Life isn’t always fair, and that’s something that Llewellyn Gardner knows about first hand. His life was on the fast track until one night of extreme passion changed everything.

Now eight years later, he’s still living with the aftershocks of that night. Everywhere he turns or runs, there’s another reminder. What the hell do you do when you try to drown your demons only to find out they can swim?

Shane Smith, Jr. owner of Smith Construction, could see the emotional turmoil within his new employee — it’s why he hired him. There was something about the gorgeous, misunderstood man with the overly expressive eyes that came to their small town with a past no one was willing to overlook. Shane could see the good in Llewellyn, and those eyes of his were a clear window to his soul. Shane wasn’t going to let the man live a future of solitude because his past had been plagued with deceit.

Llewellyn wasn’t sure what to think about Shane. After years of protecting himself from being tricked twice, he was now faced with worry again. What would happen to him if Shane didn’t believe his truth, and walked away? Llewellyn wasn’t sure he’d be able to survive being left alone. Again.

Blurb: Aiden Flanagan has spent his entire life fighting who and what he is. After losing control of the power within him one time too many, Aiden flees to his parents’ vacation home on Nantucket to lock himself away as punishment and to protect the people he cares about. Getting nowhere on his own, Aiden fears he’ll never have enough control to join the world again—and perhaps he doesn’t deserve to—until an act of kindness brings Murphy Mizuuchi into his life.

Though still grieving the loss of his partner, Murphy’s own gifts won’t allow him to ignore the strongest projector he’s ever encountered or deny the beautiful soul behind Aiden’s drama. Drawing on his own recovery, his empathy, and years of practicing meditation, he shows Aiden not only how to find a safe outlet for who he is, but to value his abilities.

But Murphy isn’t the only one drawn to Aiden’s fire. Someone from his past followed Aiden to the island, and it will take both Murphy’s and Aidan’s powers to protect him from a man who won’t stop until he takes all Aiden has.

Review: After the fiasco with his ex-boyfriend, the gun and the fire, Aiden Flanagan quickly made his getaway, all the way to his family home on Nantucket Island. He spends almost a month in seclusion, scared to be around another person for fear of what the fire inside him will do the next time he loses control. He doesn’t know who or what he is anymore. Has no idea how to control his emotions and at first the seclusion helps.

A bon fire on the beach with a group of rowdy college kids brings Aiden right into the path of Murphy Mizuuchi though, and all thoughts of a lonely existence are consumed by the older man’s piercing blue eyes, his knowing glare.

Murphy has also been living under a rock for a while now. After losing his partner five years ago, Murphy fears getting close to another man that way, he doesn’t want to tarnish what they shared. But there is something about the energy the red-head that has moved in next door exudes that calls to Murphy.

As an empath, Murphy can sense the emotions of everyone around him, and he has learned to hone that ability to a point, but Aiden breaks down his barriers and all but slaps him in the face with his various emotions. Guilt, anger and confusion are but a glimpse of what Aiden projects. He also permeates the air around him with want and need, he wants to get closer to Murphy, and Aiden needs to feel his touch.

For the first time in a long time, maybe ever, Aiden feels wanted. He can be himself with Murphy, tell the man all his secrets and he doesn’t run and hide. He can also open up his ability and not hurt Murphy. But there is an evil that disguises itself as good, and that evil is lurking in the shadows on the island, watching and waiting for the opportunity to consume Aiden and his gift.

This story picks up where the first story, Air and Earth, left off with Aiden fleeing from Adam’s farm after the disastrous fire that landed Jay in a coma. Throughout the story Aiden is at war with himself, no matter how close he and Murphy become there is the constant weight on Aiden’s shoulders over what he did to Adam. And then there is the mysterious Richard, the man that makes Murphy’s skin crawl, the stranger that keeps popping up everywhere Aiden goes on the island.

So all the while Murphy and Aiden are falling love and sharing their deepest, darkest secrets with each other, there is that constant hesitancy over what happened with Adam, how Aiden couldn’t control it. The stranger, the storm, the unknown and the passion all come to a head in the end and the whole time I was reading I couldn’t help but wonder how Aiden and Murphy would weather the storm. Can these two broken souls help heal each other?

Once I picked up this book, I could not put it down. I literally devoured it in a matter of hours. The push and pull between Aiden and Murphy was amazing. Where one is weak the other shows strength, and each one of their unique abilities seemed to complement each other.

Murphy’s skill as an empath prohibits Aiden from curling up inside his emotions and wallowing in self-pity, because Murphy can read him like a book. And where Aiden has had difficulty in the past sustaining a relationship because of his erratic behavior and his inability to control the fire in his personality, Murphy doesn’t feel the burn. They are literally yin and yang.

I’m hoping this is going to be a trilogy, now that McAllister has introduced the four elements and one sneaky skin crawling bastard got away, there has to be a show down. I cannot wait to see how the fantastic four will come together and learn to trust one another, work together as a team and cohesively use their gifts. Jay, Air… Adam, Earth… Murphy, Water… Aiden, Fire.

And I absolutely love how McAllister gave each character a feature that fit with their ability. Jay is pale and whimsical, like air. Adam is large, brooding and muscular with his darker features. His closest friend until the fire was the tree, Gaia, everything about Adam screams earth, trees. Murphy has those bluer than blue eyes like the ocean, and Aiden’s flaming red hair that match his personality and fire ability are a perfect reflection. Their descriptions and personalities blend flawlessly with their part in the story, and the world is described with vivid details and scenery.

A must read for fans of paranormal romances, elemental magic, passionate romances and just an overall very well written story.

Blurb: Burke is on a mystical fast in the desert when a circling buzzard leads him to the most amazing little house in the middle of nowhere. At first he thinks the house and its owner are just a thirst-induced hallucination. Luckily for Burke, however, Kristopher is not a figment of his imagination.

Kristopher had some tough times in his life and moved to the desert to get away. He’s been waiting for something, or someone, to reinvigorate him, and he thinks Burke might just be the one to do it.

Can Burke and Kristopher find the strength to believe in fate?

Review: Books like this from Sean Michael always surprise me. I read so many of his other books that deal with BDSM and raunchy sex that I forget he also can write sweet and almost gentle love stories. And this was definitely that.

Two men alone in the world find each other in the desert of all places. There is little history given about them only what is really needed to give them a reason to be in the places they are to meet. But there is enough to give Burke and Kristopher presence on the pages and to be drawn into their story.

This was a brief look into the start of a relationship between two men looking for something in life but not knowing what it is until they manage to find each other. There is no angst, no drama, and really just perfect the way it is in my opinion.
