Review: Each book in the Wolf Creek Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way Stormy Glenn can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Stormy.

Eddie is running for his life. He thought his boyfriend was taking him to Paris to propose, but it ends up he is secretly bringing something into the country. So when it comes up missing, said ass beats him once more. He knew he had to get away from Duke. So, on the flight home he comes across a very sexy man who obviously hated to fly.

Virgil has been through some pretty bad times in the past. He has been trained to kill or in some ways capture for information. What he had not expected was a very talkative little man in the seat beside him. Talk about a shock when he finds out that Eddie is his mate. That is not the biggest surprise for him it turns out. Although Eddie will be in more shock then Virgil.

When these two meet it doesn’t go down the way one would think. First off Virgil’s nose had been broken so he had not known that Eddie was his mate. It wasn’t till the sex, which I might say is hot and sexy. They join the mile high club that is for sure. Then there is Eddie’s father, grandmother, and some total losers all the way around. The grandmother is a real joke. Things heat up really fast for them and they also fall in love faster than humans do. The story has a bit of twist that has me wanting more.

The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story. This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break.

I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: Jordan Castillo Price is really, really good at dark and edgy. Be prepared for more psychological thriller and mind bender than vamp romance in the Channeling Morpheus series. A strong theme throughout is really a close look at relationship dynamics, codependency, one man’s angst and guilt feeding another not quite human-camp’s hunger for that kind of angsty energy. But enough about all that let’s get to the meat of each story.

Payback, which is Channeling Morpheus 1, introduces readers to an angry, mad Michael dead set on finding and staking the vamp that killed his best friend. He’s got a bit of practice, thinks he know just how to draw out the fanged offender, dolls himself up in Goth gear, a bit of eye liner, and plenty of wooden stakes and oh yeah, the modern tool of trade, Rohypnol.

After all, how do you stake a powerful vamp, can’t really ask him to lie still. Of course Wild Bill is in this greasy spoon observing along with the vamp du jour, all of Michael’s machinations. Intrigued by Michaels’ motives and plans he inserts himself into the sexual and blood thirsty ménage, and instead of dine and dash, Bill takes a morbid liking to Michael, and shadows and assists him with his plan to get rid of Mary’s vamp despite Michael’s steaking ways.

Vertigo continues the odd magnetic attraction between our two dark and moody fellas. Michael is hot on the path of Wild Bill, though weather to steak or straddle is up in the air. This continuation of the Channeling Morpheus series is written from Bill’s POV.

He’s not yet shaken thoughts of Michael from his consciousness, and doesn’t particularly like or need connection, but there is something more drawing out his need for Michael, not just sexual, (though yes, there is plenty of hot kinky sex going on) or even of the blood thirst type of want, but once again we see Bill feeding off of Michael s misery and energy to keep fighting. Turns out Michael also needs Bill…to help him with his mission…but beware of the roofies Bill!

Manikin Oh for the love of everything strange and twisted! I have to say Manikin is one of my favorite stories in this series! Maruskha takes the scene with her love of dolls….and making dolls….of the human and eventually, not so living kind! This one is creeptastic. Michael has really got himself in a bind this time!

Trying to take on a psychologically damaged older vamp, ready to “pose” as her next victim, he winds up being prepped as her next dolly. His only hope is that Bill really has built a true liking for him, enough to come to Michael’s rescue. I kind of like how the tables are turned here, time for Michael to take a dose of his own medicine…maybe he’ll keep the Rohypnol away from Bill now.

Tainted Once again we get to hear from Wild Bill’s POV. This one is a bit interesting in the aspect of vampire world building Price creates. One where it might just be possible that Bill’s sexual encounters, not his scratches and bites are very slowly turning Michael into a preternatural creature.

Bill’s concerns create, dare I suggest it, a slightly guilty conscience, or maybe Michael’s humanity is rubbing off on him instead? He doesn’t want to turn Michael, after all, what a lovely source he has, not to mention this is the first connection in a long time that has not grown deadly stale. Michael of course had more wild and crazy thoughts on the matter. He feels the need to consult science, and a scientist in general. Are they headed for traps and trouble, or a technological answer for Michael’s lack of appetite and Bill’s concerns?

Rebirth or maybe it could have been aptly names Trouble. Michael goes home again, but really, we know that way lays disaster. He’s not only gay, his boyfriend is a vampire, he’s hiding way too many secrets from his family and friends, and finally their brilliant idea is to take shelter with a commune of vamps. Bill’s long past and Michael’s…humanity…soon lead to big trouble.

Throughout this series Bill and Michael’s stubbornness slowly gives way to not only an attraction, but a love and dependence on each other. Michael may not fit with his family any more, but it seems he and Bill fit nicely. Especially now that they are coming to terms with Michael’s semi-vamp adaptation. Seems their sexual fluid exchanges have given Michael a boost, and an immunity to becoming a complete vampire, but will he be safe from the others?

Over all this series is wonderfully inventive, not your usual romantic vampfluff, but a dark and edgy psychological puzzle filled with sexy and nail-biting adventures. There’s a bit of D/s kink laid underneath the sexual exchanges, but both characters have amazing strengths. Michael still sees hope in humanity tries to find the good and is saddened and depressed by the bad.

In turn Bill may feed off of Michael’s down and dark moments, but he’s driven to “good deeds” by Michael’s desire to fight for the better part of humanity. A complimentary couple if I ever heard of one. I love this series, it’s hard to explain how it’s dark and cold one moment, and a warm loving heart full the next, but that’s what it is.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! And don’t stop here. Pick up the shorts and the next cluster in the series!

Blurb: Two guys insist on complicating Dylan O’Connor’s life: one, his bully, and the other, his best friend.

It started out simple enough. Step one, outsmart Adam with wit and flair, goad him into doing something stupid, and land him in detention. Step two, play video games with Kai all night and laugh about it. Go to bed. Repeat tomorrow. Only, Adam and Kai are about to change the rules on him.

First, Adam’s bullying turns suddenly violent, leaving Dylan to wonder if his bully really needs a friend. Then, Kai makes an unexpected move Dylan has only imagined in his most secret fantasies. Only he’d never dreamed it might come at a price.

While Adam opens up, coming closer to revealing a secret he’s kept his entire life, Kai pulls away—even as they get closer than ever.

With everything he thought he understood turned upside down, Dylan must decide what he really wants from the men in his life—before inaction loses him the very relationships he’s always relied on.

No pressure, Dylan. You got this. It’s just love. How hard could it be?

Review: Let me start by saying I usually don’t read a lot of YA books. I’ve read a few and liked some, but usually they’re too dramatic and not steamy enough. However, this book was incredible! And if the lack of sex would stop you from reading this book, stop right there! It has sex, hot, funny sex, not too much, not too little, just enough!

This book is written from Dylan’s POV, and I can’t praise enough what a good job the author did when giving voice to this character. Dylan is hilarious at best and funny at worst, smart and witty, a sarcastic little shit, who lives for the insults he trades daily with his homophobic bully, Adam. Only you know in Elementary school when boy pulls girl’s pony-tail, and girl kicks the crap out of boy, it’s all done outta love? That’s exactly the case here.

I love Adam and Dylan’s relationship, from enemies to lovers. It was an absolute blast to witness their journey. I liked all the characters, secondary or otherwise, because while they behaved in true teenage fashion, the brattiness and bitchiness that put me off certain YA books is not present here. I loved that the head cheerleader was a mature, nice, friendly person who hated drama with a passion, it made for a nice change from the norm.

But if you think funny is all this book is, you’re wrong. Hunter managed to find the perfect balance between humour and sadness, because Adam’s home situation is nothing to laugh about. But his struggles were revealed in a manner that while it will definitely pull at your heartstrings (and you might even tear up), you’ll not be having any sob fest. This book was everything I’ve ever hoped for (in terms of a YA book) but never thought I would find.

And I don’t have enough praise for Dylan’s parents! Holy crap, they were hilarious! But at the same time they were supportive and understanding, you really couldn’t ask for better parents.

I can’t wait to see what this author’s next book will be like, because as a debut novel, this is fabulous!

Review: This is my first time reading a book by Adrienne Wilder and I’ve kicked myself all day for waiting so long. In The Absence of Light is, without a doubt, one of the best books I have ever read.

The story is one that envelops your whole body and keeps you completely invested from start to finish. It has so many amazing qualities that I love in the stories I read. I fell in love with the characters very quickly and only wanted to see them find their happy ever after.

The main characters, Grant and Morgan, are such a perfect fit for each other. Grant knows almost immediately when he first sees Morgan that he is more than he appears or allows anyone to see. He keeps his hair over his eyes and very seldom, almost never, looks anyone in the eye. That’s why it is so special when he looks in Grant’s eyes even though it is brief.

Grant is 36 years old and retired from his job running his own shipping company. His intentions are to move to this small town in the middle of nowhere and keep his head down for a few years. He’s really trying to stay out of the limelight of the FBI since some of his jobs were not exactly legal.

Morgan is 24 years old and severely autistic. He is the most beautiful and amazing person but his life has not been easy. He has faced insurmountable odds and beat every one of them. He had very few people who believed in him but thanks to one strong-willed lady who never gave up on him he thrived and excelled when no one thought he stood a chance.

When Grant first meets Morgan he does what probably all of us have done one time or another in our lifetime. He judges and forms opinions about Morgan because all he sees are his disabilities. Morgan has tics and his arm will fly out or hit himself on the head. Sometimes he wails with the strangest shrill that makes you think he is hurting. He has no reservations letting Grant know that he wants him. He wants him to understand him and see the world through his eyes.

Here he is telling Grant about wanting to do ballet and how he practiced till he was perfect with the moves but they denied his application.

“I was the best.” Silence reigned until Morgan sighed. “But they denied my application before they even let me show them what I could do.”
“Because they couldn’t see me.”
I hated to admit my ignorance but I didn’t have a choice. “I don’t understand.”
“The light is a funny thing, Grant. We think it shows us what we need to see but in reality it blinds us. That’s why I brought you here. I wanted you to see me.”

I know I am guilty of this myself just as Grant was. We only see the disabilities and are afraid to talk or get to know someone. What we don’t understand holds us back, however, Morgan was not going to allow Grant to not see him for who he was.

I admit, I didn’t know jack shit about ballet, but it didn’t take an expert to see he was flawless or damn well close to it.
Those people at the dance school had truly missed out.
He switched feet, arching back over a curved leg. His eyes were closed and he wore a blissful expression. One I’d seen when he watched the light, or when I made love to him.

The most amazing thing was the lack of tics. They were just gone, leaving behind a gorgeous man who would never be normal. Not because of the autism, but because he was too extraordinary.

And Morgan is extraordinary. He is super smart, creative, and artistic to a level that would put the best to shame. He is funny with a quick wit that will keep you laughing and a smile on your face even after the giggles die down. If there is something he wants to do or learn, he does. Years earlier, he was hurt, very badly, and left for dead. His ability to trust has left him skittish, but that doesn’t deter Grant. He wants him just as much and will not stop until Morgan believes him.

There is so much to this story that I am having a hard time trying to put into words how incredible and amazing I found this book. There are secondary characters that deserve just as much credit as the main for what they bring to this story. The author has done one hell of a job in translating this story and bringing it to life.
The author takes us for a journey where we are learning the same time Grant is.

There is a level of suspense that stays palpable through almost the entire story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The threat is coming from two different sources so you are always on guard and a little fearful of what may happen. The descriptive narrative flowed so effortlessly and I found myself watching page count because I didn’t want it to end.

I don’t normally comment a whole lot on sex scenes other than to say they were really good or very hot or not the focus of the story. However, I am going to comment on the sex in this book. There was sex and quite a bit of it. I know this sounds corny but I can’t remember reading another book that the sex honest-to-god felt like poetry in motion. I was completely enthralled by their intimacy and their moments of lovemaking. Together, they were exquisite and the feelings and vibes that they had between them were incredible.

I actually caught myself holding my breath in fear of them stopping. I didn’t want them to stop because it was so real and heartfelt. I love how the author included things regardless to how small that most of the time seems glossed over. It was real and I felt like I was right there with them.

I would strongly encourage anyone and everyone to read this story. There is no way I can do it justice because there is so much detail and so many situations that happen in 400 pages. It has everything that you could want in a story and more.

As I said at the beginning, this is my first book by Ms. Wilder but it will not be my last. If the ending was anything to go by then hopefully we will be getting another book sometime in the near future. I will be there waiting to grab it when and if that happens. Go get this book, you guys, it is phenomenal in every way.

I love, love, love, this story so much. The ending was so perfect and I know this is one story that I will re-read again many times.

Review: I’ve binged read this series and it was totally awesome, so excuse me while I blurt out my adoration! This series really and truly needs to be read in order, so quick, go back to Beyond the Edge before picking up this one.

Book 1: Beyond the Edge was reviewed on MM Good Book Reviews when it was first released back in 2012 and although I rate the book higher than the other reviewer, as a quick side note I’m just going to say that you’ll get more satisfaction out of it going in with the knowledge that this is hot BDSM and it is not a ménage romance.

Anyway, onto “The Cross and the Trinity”, the title fascinated me from the start and for anyone familiar at least with the literary BDSM playroom, it’s clear where the cross comes in. In fact, we faced with some pretty damn hot scenes. But this book isn’t just about the BDSM (and the odd bit of puppy play), which is why I love Tate and Sebastian’s story and their inherent link to James Lucas (he has to be involved since he is the titular name of the series!)

Tate and Sebastian are a wonderful couple. They are perfectly matched but there is something missing once you get past the hot sex and domesticity. In book 1 they met James Lucas, a very skilled and passionate Dom and spent time with in his play room before the couple went their own way. To be fair while James was attracted to Sebastian in book 1, it was Tate that he really developed feelings for. A year after meeting James and with their relationship disintegrating under the pressure of work and family and just life in general, James reappears at the critical time to save them.

This book has a lot more romance than book 1, although there is still the heavy exploration of BDSM. James certainly knows what Tate and Sebastian need! Another thing that I really loved about this one is that it shows BDSM not as a quick little game but as a kind of extension of the character’s personality. I also enjoyed the cohesion and “sorting the chaos” that was introduced by James and in extension, by these guys living the BDSM lifestyle (though not full-time).

This has to be one of my favourite BDSM themed series, the writing is excellent, the action is hot and the sexual tension is perfect. Best of all, these are just ordinary guys just trying to sort out their love life, it just happens to be a bit different from many of us are used to.

Blurb: Nikolas is the sanest, straightest, person he knows, so can anyone tell him, why he’s on a gay therapy course?

Nikolas Mikkelsen could make a very long list of unpleasant things he’s endured in his life. Then order it from ‘nearly killed me’ to ‘extremely horrific and don’t want to do again’. And what did it say about his forty-five years that being hit by a tsunami would be a considerable way down this list? But nothing, not torture, imprisonment, nor starvation has prepared him for what he now has to endure for Ben Rider’s sake-attendance on a residential, gay therapy course.

At least he has a new contender for the top spot on his ‘my awful life’ list.

Review: This is the fourth book in the More Heat than the Sun series. It is a slower paced and less action packed than the previous books but still good. Nik and Ben’s relationship still continues to have its ups and downs while they grow closer. There were some hilarious and sarcastic comments throughout that I loved as I’m a sarcastic person myself.

This had my head spinning by the end with all the emotions running through it. It was slightly different from the previous ones and well written as usual. Though I thought there would more action I was still surprised at some things that occurred and scratching my head at others.

I tend to not read books with anything about counseling camps because I don’t think they really help in any way unless the individuals doing the counseling have been through the exact same thing as those they are counseling as ever body reacts differently to things they have been through. So telling someone you should be doing this or that because of what you’ve been through is just wrong in my opinion.

So I didn’t care for their undercover mission to the camp at all. It made me furious at times and rolling my eyes at other times.

Aside from that the rest was good.

Review: This is book 2 of the Blue Boy series. The whole series should be read because in the second and third book you hear a bit more of other characters you’ve already met. However, there is no real over arching story. In addition, I accidentally read the book out-of-order and I had no problems understanding everything, though when I went back to this one after reading book 3 first, a few things fell into place.

This book is about Cam and Sasha. Cam is a bit of a fixture at Blue Boy Studios, which is part of a club and porn film set up. He’s also a top that wants to be a bottom, but according to his producer, it would not be good for sales. Cam then meets Sasha, a hot guy who is into BMX riding. They make an instant connection.

I have to say the chemistry and tension between Sasha and Cam is excellent. Thankfully, both these guys are thoroughly likable and somewhat relatable, which instantly drew me into their story. I enjoyed their story because it is not just a tale of a porn star trying to reconcile his professional life with his new love that is not in the porn industry. Of course, there is a lot of that. But there is also some really relatable drama with a relatable health crisis or two.

The only reason I am giving this 4 and not 5 is simply that there are some points where things seemed a bit rushed or a little bit of explanation about particular characters were lost and it left me thinking a couple of times: “what’s the point of x doing y and how did we jump to z?” The development of Sasha and Cam as characters was excellent but sometimes it was to the detriment of some pretty important minor characters and some parts were left a bit open-ended to skip to the next scene.

After a long search for the rebel group of wolf shifters located in the eastern Canadian woods, Brandt Malik finally stumbles upon them while hunting one day. But before he can report back to his alphas, Brandt is captured by the rebels, who take one look at his uniform and believe he’s spying on them for the Bureau of Lupine Affairs. The rebels don’t make any attempt to hide their contempt and mistrust of the former agent, and Brandt is sent to be interrogated by the second in command, Zayne Sala, a powerful and dominant alpha.

Zayne, a huge Alaskan wolf, can’t believe what his senses are telling him when he discovers the good looking BLA agent. This man, this traitor to their kind, can’t be his mate, despite all evidence to the contrary. Despite his growing compulsion for the agent, he takes charge of Brandt and tricks him into leading the rebels back to his camp. They capture the entire group and lead them back in chains to their stronghold. Now it’s up to Brandt and the others to convince the rebels that they’re trustworthy and that they only wish to join the rebellion. Zayne has vowed never to truly mate with Brandt, no matter how painful it is for him to stay away from him, but as it becomes obvious that his plan won’t work, he tries instead to teach his mate proper submissive behavior and ignore his painful past.

As their love struggles to take root, Zayne must learn to trust in Brandt and stand together against the forces trying to tear them apart or risk losing everything.
